Garfield man injured in semi-trailer crash near Parkers Prairie – Alexandria Echo Press

PARKERS PRAIRIE – A Garfield man was injured in a tractor-trailer accident near Parkers Prairie on Tuesday, Oct. 1.

According to the Otter Tail Sheriff's Office, Dick Miller, 73, was driving a 2001 International tractor-trailer loaded with gravel north on Parkers Road, south of 108th St.

Apparently the passenger side of the vehicle ended up on the soft shoulder of the gravel road, causing the vehicle to end up in the east ditch. When it came to a stop, the vehicle leaned so far to the right that it rolled over onto its right side, according to the accident report.

Miller, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was trapped in the vehicle and had to be freed. According to the sheriff's office, Miller was transported by Parkers Prairie Emergency Medical Services to Alomere Health Hospital in Alexandria with non-life-threatening injuries.

The accident occurred around 11 a.m

According to a staff report from Echo Press

Our newsroom occasionally reports stories under the Staff headline. Often the name “Stab” is used when rewriting basic short messages that come from official sources, such as a city press release about a road closure, and which require little or no reporting. Sometimes this byline is used when a news story includes many authors or when the story is created by aggregating previously reported news from various sources. If outside sources are used, this will be noted in the story.
