The Bills' Von Miller has been suspended four games for violating the rules of conduct

Buffalo Bills pass rusher Von Miller was suspended for four games on Tuesday for violating the NFL's personal conduct rules, the league announced.

Miller will now miss the Bills' next four games and will be eligible to rejoin the roster on October 28.

Although not specifically announced, the suspension likely stems from Miller's serious domestic violence incident last fall. Miller turned himself in to police in Texas last November on suspicion of assaulting a pregnant woman, a third-degree felony. Miller was accused of attacking his longtime girlfriend and mother of his children at the home they shared in Dallas. Among other things, Miller is said to have choked his girlfriend twice during an argument, pulled out a strand of her hair and stomped on her laptop.

Miller's girlfriend downplayed the incident and denied that it was an assault. Miller later said that the allegations were completely false and “exaggerated.” The case was ultimately dropped without charges being filed. The NFL has been investigating ever since.

Miller was also investigated for domestic violence in 2021 while playing for the Denver Broncos. He also was not charged in this incident.

Miller is in the third year of a six-year, $120 million contract with the Bills. The 35-year-old appeared in all four games this season, totaling five tackles and three sacks and helping Buffalo to a 3-1 start. Because of his suspension, Miller will miss Buffalo's game against the Houston Texans this weekend and then games against the New York Jets, Tennessee Titans and Seattle Seahawks. He is eligible to return for the Bills' game against the Miami Dolphins on November 3rd.
