Two Schenectady men are charged with car theft

Two Schenectady men are accused of stealing a car last March.

State police found a vehicle on March 16 in the area of Locust Grove Road in Greenfield. The car had been reported stolen in Chestertown earlier in the day.

The investigation led to the arrest of 26-year-old Jonathan R. Clayfield, 26, and 29-year-old Thomas E. Clayfield.

They allegedly drove the vehicle to that location and fled into the woods when they saw soldiers patrolling the area.

The couple was booked into the Schenectady County Jail on Sept. 27 after being released on an unrelated matter. They were each charged with criminal possession of stolen property and released on their own recognizance following their arraignment in Wilton Town Court.
