Leaks Go Acoustic: How Rogers Water Reduced Waste and Built Resilience

Rogers Water Utility (RWU) in Rogers, AR, has taken action to address persistent leaks in its distribution system that were making it difficult to maintain water volume in the Eastern District water tower. By adding tools to locate and fix leaks, RWU was able to reduce non-revenue water use, increase water pressure for residents, and create a more sustainable water system in neighboring towns.

Rogers, AR, is a vibrant and rapidly growing city of 77,000 residents in the northwest part of the state. The community is served by Rogers Water Utility (RWU), one of four utilities in the Beaver Water District that provides drinking water and wastewater services. RWU utilized Itron acoustic leak detection, a simple but powerful technology that helped the utility identify the location of leaks throughout the Eastern District and beyond. The result was more than just a quick return on investment (ROI), but also water security for their community and even neighboring towns.
