We're just hours away from seeing the highly anticipated sequel to Todd Phillips' Oscar-winning magnum opus Joker. The first word on the street is now known

Right from his first attacks, Joker: Folie à Deux Greatness was written all over it. Joaquin Phoenix taking credit for every picture is no shock to anyone. And while Lady Gaga's spooky screen presence left everyone wanting more, she has more than established herself as a bankable actress thanks to her recent on-screen appearances. As we gear up for its release in India tomorrow, the first X reviews coming together for the Todd Phillips directorial confirm that the vibe for this film has been great.

“Complex” seems to be the general consensus when it comes to decoding Joker 2. While not all viewers who have seen the film so far are completely fascinated by the product, most agree that the film certainly pushes boundaries.

Some X comments praise Joker 2was: “Unexpected, bold and mesmerizing. A small film that feels so great behind the #IMAX lens. This format elevates each scene astronomically. Gaga is absolutely phenomenal and Phoenix brings it again,” “I walked out.” #JokerFolieADeux completely down. Todd Phillips created a poetic and romantic love story that brilliantly intertwines with music. Joaquin Phoenix has delivered again, but Lady Gaga is a movie star. She belongs in the Oscar conversation. I loved it” and “This movie is sure to cause divisiveness – and not as simply as if you loved the first one, you would love this, and if you hated the first one, you would hate this one.” That means I absolutely loved it.”

To further shed light on the core content of the film, some comments added: “#JokerFolieADeux is a love story in its truest form. She expresses two hard truths in the best artistic way possible. They are: 1) Love makes you vulnerable 2) People tend to love a version of you, but not the complete version of you. Joaquin Phoenix and Gaga both deserve Oscars🫡” and “I liked it a lot more than the first #JokerFolieADeux has a lot more replay value. I'll definitely watch it a few times.” I only saw the first one twice, will definitely watch this 5-10x ending. It was shocking but a great time, 5/5 in my opinion.”

Spoiler alert: Joker 2 Perhaps a crucial plot point is a courtroom drama. It's worth noting that some X-threads have pointed out that this aspect also tends to override the fact that the film was marketed as a twisted musical. For example, one comment said: “It's more of a courtroom drama than I thought Joker and Harley would wreak havoc on the city together.” However, like Joaquin, Lady Gaga delivers. I loved the musical numbers (shocking!)”. Another comment reflected how the film actually balanced these two facets and presented audiences with something quite unique: “#JokerFolieADeux continues the boldness of its predecessor and tears apart absolutely every cliché in the comic book film genre. A psychotic breakdown that blends courtroom drama and musical genres like never before. Joaquin Phoenix & Lady Gaga are just 🤯”.
