Former opponents Alex Pereira and Sean Strickland are reunited in new sparring material ahead of Pereira's next title defense.

Pereira will defend his UFC light heavyweight title against Khalil Rountree in the main event of UFC 307 in Salt Lake City this Saturday. The two former middleweight champions met in the host city for the pay-per-view card to compete in a tough five-minute bout just days before the card.

Pereira and Strickland met in a decisive 185-pound bout at UFC 276 in July 2022, where “Poatan” earned his first championship shot with a brutal first-round knockout victory. Pereira captured the title four months later in his next fight against Israel Adesanya at UFC 281, before returning the belt to Adesanya the following April in Pereira's final middleweight bout at UFC 287.

Strickland would dethrone Adesanya five months later in a stunning upset at UFC 293.
