Adult and 2 children injured in vehicle accident in Sac County canal

A crash Tuesday sent a car into a canal and sent three people to the hospital, the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District said. Crews responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision on Elk Grove Florin Road near Bridalsmith Drive around 5 p.m., the fire department said. Crews arrived to find one of the vehicles involved in the crash Canal and an adult and two children had to be freed from the car. Officials said one person was taken to the hospital with serious injuries and the two children were taken to the hospital with minor or moderate injuries. Crews responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision on Elk Grove Florin Road near Bridalsmith Drive around 5 p.m

The fire department said that upon arrival, emergency services discovered that one of the vehicles involved in the accident was in a canal and an adult and two children had to be extricated from the car.

Officials said one person was taken to the hospital with serious injuries and the two children were taken to the hospital with minor or moderate injuries.

Two occupants of the other vehicle refused transport to the hospital, the fire department said.

Officials have not said what led to the crash.
