October 7: Nova festival survivor helped authorities kill terrorists in Tel Aviv shooting: report

The armed civilian who helped take out two terrorists who killed at least seven people in Tel Aviv on Tuesday has been identified as a survivor of the Nova Music Festival in southern Israel, according to reports.

Lev Kreitman, an Israel Defense Forces reservist, took action alongside authorities during the deadly shootout that rocked the busy Israeli city, the Forward reported.

Kreitman, who runs Israel's own version of the Burning Man festival called Midburn, said on an Israeli news broadcast that he was sitting nearby with a drink when he heard gunshots, the source said.

Because of his status in the IDF, he carried a pistol and ran toward the danger.

Both gunmen were killed in the shootout, which occurred just before Iran began firing missiles at the Jewish state.

The two terrorists got off the train and immediately shot people on the platform. In addition to the seven victims killed, at least nine other people were injured, police said.

Israel's Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich said the attackers came from the West Bank city of Hebron.

Kreitman's exploits came after he survived the Nova festival when Hamas terrorists descended on the event on October 7, 2023, killing and kidnapping Israelis. He also fought in Gaza last year, the Forward reported.

Footage shared on WhatsApp shows Kreitman, with his long hair tied in a bun, firing his pistol. Other online clips show him walking behind uniformed IDF soldiers at the crime scene, the source said.

Kreitman made headlines earlier this year when he brought a wooden sign with the names of five Midburn community members who were killed either at the Nova festival or in the fight against Hezbollah to Burning Man in Nevada's Black Rock City.
