South Carolina troopers: Details on fatal storm-related crash

A storm-related crash Tuesday that occurred at an intersection where traffic lights were not working killed two people, South Carolina Highway Patrol troopers said. Master Trooper Mitchell Ridgeway said the crash was reported on Highway 9 at California Avenue just after 2 p.m. Ridgeway said a 2021 Cadillac SUV and a 2015 Toyota sedan were traveling north on Highway 9 and approaching the intersection when the Toyota, traveling west on California Avenue, approached the intersection . He said both vehicles entered the intersection and collided. Ridgeway said the driver of the Toyota and two passengers were taken to a hospital. Spartanburg County Coroner Rusty Clevenger previously said Sarah Ann Farr, 77, of Jonesville, South Carolina, died at the scene and was not wearing a seatbelt. Ridgeway said the other passenger died at the scene at the hospital. Clevenger has not yet released the name of the second passenger.
