HPD arrests suspect in Salt Lake City shooting | News

HONOLULU (Island News) – Honolulu police arrested a 17-year-old boy on Tuesday, October 1, for an attempted murder that occurred last month in Salt Lake.

The suspect was arrested around 12:40 p.m. for a shooting the night of September 19th. According to reports, around 9 p.m. that day, he fired four shots at a 38-year-old man, a 21-year-old man and a 17-year-old boy.

According to HPD, a car drove past a house and someone in the back seat opened fire on the three victims in the carport. One of the residents of the home returned fire before the car drove off. There were no injuries as a result. One of the victims reported to HPD that he recognized two of the people in the car from school.

The suspect is charged with one count of attempted first-degree murder and three counts of attempted second-degree murder.
