Teen suspect wanted for attempted murder arrested in Binghamton

A juvenile wanted for attempted murder was arrested today in the city of Binghamton by the Southern Tier SWAT team.

On Tuesday, October 1, members of the Broome County Sheriff's Warrant Division and the U.S. Marshals Regional Fugitive Task Force received information regarding the whereabouts of a 17-year-old Binghamton female wanted for attempted murder in connection with a recent homicide was a shooting in the city of Binghamton. The teenage fugitive was taken to locations on Floral Ave. and pursued at Chelsea Square in the city of Binghamton.

The Southern Tier SWAT team was then deployed and served a search warrant at a residence on Floral Ave. before executing a warrant at a residence in Chelsea Square in the Town of Binghamton and successfully taking the juvenile into custody without incident.

The juvenile was turned over to Binghamton City Police to be processed for attempted murder. The juvenile will then be charged with that charge based on the warrant and released into the custody of the Broome County Sheriff's Office.

The Broome County Sheriff's Office and the Southern Tier SWAT team assisted Marshals of the United States Regional Refugee Task Force and Binghamton Police Department.
