Fatal crash closes Jackson Highway in Tippecanoe County | Local

TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) – Deputies and emergency responders are at the scene of a deadly accident.

The accident occurred around 3:30 a.m. Wednesday in the 5100 block of Jackson Highway.

Capt. Rob Hainje says a man was driving west at a high rate of speed when he went off the right side of the road and struck two utility poles and a fence.

Hainje said he was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident after his vehicle overturned.

The Tippecanoe County Sheriff's Office is working with the coroner's office to identify the man, described as being in his mid-20s.

Officials are expected to issue a news release later Wednesday.

The crash is still under investigation.

A Tipmont team is on site to repair the damage.
