Gameplay footage from the Until Dawn remake has leaked online

It looks great, but fans aren't entirely thrilled.

Ahead of the game's release on October 4, around three hours of gameplay from the Until Dawn remake were leaked online. Twitch streamer Nikolai7PT shared the footage during a livestream on October 1st and it is currently still available to watch.

Many fans of the original game are frustrated that the remake is a full-price title rather than a discounted upgrade for those who already own the title.

“I mean, if horizon can revamp all of its graphics, add Duelsense features, and re-record over 10 hours of motion capture to bring cutscenes up to modern standards and realistically charge existing players $10 Until dawn “Should have done the same thing,” said Reddit user BARD3NGUNN.

First released in 2015, the interactive horror game tasks players with controlling eight young adults who must survive the night on Blackwood Mountain. Most impressively, the title features a butterfly effects system where any decisions the player makes can alter the story in a smaller or larger way.

The original game was nominated for a number of awards upon its release, including Best Narrative at the 2015 Game Awards and PlayStation Game of the Year at the Golden Joystick Awards. It won Best Original Property at the 2016 British Academy Games Awards.

“Revised and improved for PS5 consoles and PC, Until dawn “Invites you to relive the nightmare and immerse yourself in a gripping slasher horror where every decision can mean the difference between life and death,” reads the game’s official description.

The Until dawn Remaster will be released on October 4, 2024 on PlayStation 5 and PC. A live-action film is currently in the works.
