Lewiston Police announce two major drug busts and six arrests

Lewiston police announced Tuesday that they executed two search warrants that resulted in the seizure of a large quantity of illegal drugs and six arrests.

Lewiston police say the two search warrants are related to ongoing investigations by the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency, the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF).

The first search warrant was executed around 5 a.m. Tuesday at 117 College St. in Lewiston.

The site of Tuesday's raid is about a block from 149 College St., a home that burned down in a fire in August after police conducted several drug raids on the property last year.

According to police, illegal drugs were seized during the search at the 117 College St. residence and five people were arrested.

The following people were arrested:

  • Mara Clawson, 35, of Monson, for violating conditions of release;
  • Jessica Dall, 40, of Bath, for breaching conditions of release;
  • Billy-Jack Curtis, 50, of Lewiston, on multiple warrants, including burglary charges;
  • Zacheriah Laurinaitis, 33, of Lewiston, for violating conditions of release;
  • Harold Machenry, Jr., 23, of Lewiston, for Refusing Confinement and Unlawful Possession of Schedule W Drugs.

The second search warrant was executed later that morning around 10 a.m. at two apartment units at 50 Fairmount St., a Section 8 subsidized housing community.

When searching the apartments, investigators found 32 grams of cocaine base (crack), 20 grams of fentanyl and 10 oxycodone tablets as well as other evidence of illegal drug trafficking.

The apartment's tenant, Erika Hines, 34, of Lewiston, was arrested on charges of trafficking Schedule W drugs.
