The pursuit escalated until Tyson lost control of his vehicle, which ended up in a ditch on the Cape Arago Highway opposite Travis Lane. In a brief attempt to escape on foot, Tyson eventually surrendered to officers.

Tyson was arrested for felony eluding and reckless driving in addition to the charges he was facing by the North Bend Police Department. He was taken into custody and subsequently held, processed and lodged at the Coos County Jail.
