Brandon woman accused of stealing hundreds of pieces of mail

A Brandon woman is accused of stealing hundreds of pieces of mail in Rankin, Madison and Hinds counties. The Rankin County Sheriff's Department said it launched an investigation after receiving a report of fraudulent activity and multiple unauthorized charges at convenience stores in Rankin County. The investigation identified Jecyn Nino, 36, of Brandon, as the primary suspect . She was arrested during a traffic stop. Officers learned she was staying at an Airbnb in Rankin County. There, the sheriff's office found about 200 pieces of stolen mail and about 150 stolen checks. Investigators said she stole mail not only in Rankin County, but also in Madison and Hinds counties. Nino is charged with two counts of credit card fraud and possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana in a motor vehicle while possessing a firearm. Additional charges may be filed if additional victims are identified.
