Cook killed in gruesome attack: Stabbing and acid incident spark outrage | Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar News

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: Three people were arrested on Wednesday morning on charges of killing a 36-year-old chef by stabbing him and throwing acid on him in an alleged dispute over money behind a bar in Nandrabad village, about 25 km away Chhatrapati Sambhajinagararound Tuesday midnight.
The victim's friend (32), who was also stabbed, survived with multiple injuries. He is undergoing treatment at the Govt Medical College and Hospital, Sambhajinagar.
Khuldabad police identified the deceased as Akash Randhir of Ellora and his friend as Anand Ware of Phulenagar in Osmanpura area. “Randhir, who worked as a cook in a restaurant, suffered severe burns after being doused with concentrated sulfuric acid. His body was found on a road in Nandrabad village around 1.30 am,” police said.
Police Commissioner Vinaykumar Rathod said considering the gravity of the crime, several police teams have been deployed to trace and nab the accused. “Mayur Patni, who runs a lodge and a medical store in Ellora, and his two employees, Shaikh Naved and Nitin Kakde from Ellora village, were arrested for murder and attempt to murder a few hours after the crime. We suspect the crime may be a fallout Currency dispute between Patni and Randhir,” the official said.
The arrested trio were produced before a court on Wednesday, which sent them to six-day police custody.
Inspector Dhananjay Farate, citing the contents of the complaint lodged by Ware, told TOI that Randhir took Ware to a lodge owned by Patni in Ellora on Tuesday evening. “When they reached there, Patni asked Randhir and Ware to join him at a beer bar in Nandrabad where Randhir and Ware were drinking alcohol. The trio then had dinner together. After a while, Patni took Randhir outside on the pretext of paying him something. “Then an argument broke out between them after Patni paid him Rs 7,000 while Randhir demanded more,” Farate said.
The officer said Patni then took Randhir and Ware behind the bar. “According to the complainant, Patni and his two associates attacked her behind the bar with sharp-edged weapons. Ware managed to escape from the spot by snatching one of the sharp-edged weapons from Patni's hands. With the help of a friend, “Ware reached the government medical college and hospital. He had sustained multiple stab wounds and was being treated at the hospital,” the official said.
On Wednesday at 1.25 a.m. the police and the emergency service “108” received a call that a person was lying on the side of the road with 100% burns. He was rushed to the Govt Medical College and Hospital around 2 am. He succumbed to acid burns and stab wounds during treatment at the hospital, the official said.
