Charter Oak High teacher accused of molesting students – San Gabriel Valley Tribune

A Charter Oak High School teacher was arrested Wednesday morning, Oct. 2, on suspicion of unlawful sexual conduct with a then-student two years ago.

Covina police stopped Joshua McGinn, 41, at Bonnie Cove and Cienega roads and took him into custody without incident, Lt. Mike Robison.

McGinn, who public records show has addresses in Glendora and La Verne, was charged on suspicion of oral copulation with a minor.

The former student, now an adult, recently filed a police report, Robison said.

The alleged crimes occurred in 2022, but Robison did not say whether they occurred on or off campus.

“We learned this morning of the arrest of one of our teachers at Charter Oak High School for an alleged sexual assault of a former student. Once we became aware of the situation, we began cooperating immediately and fully with law enforcement,” the Charter Oak Unified School District said in a statement.

“As this is an ongoing Covina Police investigation and a personnel matter, we are unable to provide further comment.”

On the school website, McGinn is listed as an advisor to ANIME Nation, one of the clubs at Charter Oak High, 1430 E. Covina Blvd. District officials did not say how long McGinn had worked at the high school.

Booking records show McGinn was being held without bail at the Covina Jail. He is scheduled to be arraigned Friday in West Covina Superior Court.
