Brian Crossman Jr. returned to Vermont after allegedly killing family members in Pawlet

The New York man accused of killing three of his family members last month has been returned to Vermont to face a judge. Top video: See previous coverage. Brian Crossman Jr. was extradited to Vermont on Wednesday and is currently in the custody of the Vermont Department of Corrections. Rutland County Prosecutor Ian Sullivan told NBC5 he expects Crossman Jr.'s arraignment to be scheduled for Thursday afternoon. Crossman Jr. appeared in a Lake George courtroom last week for his extradition hearing. He faces three counts of aggravated murder in connection with the killings of his father, Brian Crossman Sr., his father's wife, Erica, and Erica's son, Colin Taft. The murders occurred Sept. 15 at Crossman Sr.'s home in Pawlet. Crossman Jr. was arrested in New York on charges of evading justice after Vermont State Police issued an arrest warrant. Crossman Jr. was living with his mother and her husband in Granville, New York, and visiting his father's family on weekends when the murders occurred. During the court appearance, Crossman Jr. waived extradition to Vermont. He spoke only to answer “yes” to the judge’s questions.
