23-year-old man dies after being shot during a fight at the Arapahoe Co. apartment complex

ARAPAHOE COUNTY, Colo. — A 23-year-old man died after he was shot during a fight at an apartment complex in Arapahoe County on Tuesday night.

The Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office said deputies were dispatched around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday to reports of a disturbance at the Ivy Crossing Apartments at 2350 South Quebec Street in unincorporated Arapahoe County.

Witnesses said there was a group of people in the parking lot. According to the sheriff's office, several of them were screaming and fighting when shots were fired.

A 23-year-old man was shot in the incident. He was taken to hospital where he later died.

The sheriff's office said there were about 50 people in the parking lot when officers arrived.

A group of suspected armed people took off before authorities arrived. The sheriff's office described them as at least four men dressed all in black, wearing hoodies and black masks.

Officers searched the area with K9 rifles but did not find the group. The sheriff's office said the investigation is ongoing and no further information will be released.
