Juventus – RB Leipzig 3:2 (October 2, 2024) Match analysis

Francisco Conceição's late goal secured Juventus' win against RB Leipzig.

Thanks to Francisco Conceição's 83rd-minute winner, Juventus twice came from behind to win 3-2 in two Champions League games against hosts RB Leipzig on Wednesday.

Dusan Vlahovic had to wipe out Leipzig's lead twice after striker Benjamin Sesko also scored twice for the hosts.

The Serie A side suffered a disastrous start with a double injury threat when captain Gleison Bremer was sent off after a challenge with Loïs Openda in the sixth minute and Nicolas Gonzalez was also sent off.

Leipzig, who lost their league opener at Atlético Madrid, hit back immediately after Nicolo Fagioli's shot was blocked by Leipzig keeper Peter Gulasci.

On a quick break, Openda found Sesko in the penalty area and the Slovenian striker, who also scored against Atlético, fired a shot off the crossbar and into the goal after half an hour.

Juventus, who beat PSV Eindhoven 3-1 on matchday one, recovered five minutes after the restart when Vlahovic slotted in Andrea Cambiaso's low cross, seconds after Teun Koopmeiners had hit the post for the visitors.

Leipzig, who found the back of the net twice in the second half through Openda, took the lead again in the 65th minute thanks to a well-converted penalty from Sesko.

Juve, reduced to 10 when goalkeeper Michele Di Gregorio was sent off after the hour for a handball outside the penalty area, equalized again through Vlahovic's stunning left-footed shot into the top corner.

Conceicao completed his comeback with a great run into the box and a great finish.
