On Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at approximately 7:26 a.m., the Mississippi Highway Patrol responded to a fatal crash on I-55 in Pike County. A 1986 Honda motorcycle, driven by 29-year-old Joseph Lodrigue of Brookhaven, MS, was traveling north on I-55 when it left the roadway and collided with the cable barrier. Joseph Lodrigue suffered fatal injuries in the accident and was pronounced dead at the scene. This accident remains under investigation by the Mississippi Highway Patrol.
