Three people arrested at boutique hotel in Texarkana, Arkansas

TEXARKANA, Ark. – Three people were arrested on drug charges after the 8th South Narcotics Task Force served an arrest warrant for a man at the boutique hotel on Tuesday.

Upon arriving at the hotel, the task force members were approached by someone from Cass County, Texas, who was on probation looking for suspect Gary Davis and provided investigators with some additional information.

The manager of the hotel on North State Line Avenue accompanied all police officers to the room where Davis was staying. A woman answered the door and was reportedly asked if Davis was present. Davis then allegedly stepped forward with a meth pipe in plain sight.

The sight of the pipe likely gave officers cause to search the room.

As a result of the search, Davis was arrested along with a woman and another man, according to the Miller County Sheriff's Office.

Davis was arrested on charges of possession of more than 10 grams and less than 200 grams of methamphetamine, possession of cocaine with intent to deliver and possession of Schedule 1 Kratom.

Kratom is a tropical tree native to Southeast Asia. Eating its leaves has both stimulant and sedative effects and can cause psychotic symptoms and psychological and physiological dependence, according to the Drug Enforcement Administration.

Lonnie Lee was arrested on charges of delivery of more than 10 grams and less than 200 grams of methamphetamine, conducting a drug business and unlawful use of a communications device.

Shadarria Robinson was arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.
