Luke Bryan opens about Beyonce'S Cowboy Carter is overlooked in the nominations for the CMA Awards 2024.

While on SiriusXM Andy Cohen Live, Andy Cohen asked Luke about the snub.

“That’s a tricky question, because of course Beyonce made a country album. And Beyonce has a lot of fans out there supporting her. And if she doesn't get something she wants, man, they come at you like the fans should,” he said.

Luke continued, saying, “Listen, I'm here for anyone who comes in and makes country albums and stuff.”

However, recording a country album alone doesn't qualify you as “a lot of great music gets overlooked.”

“Just because she did one… just because I did one, I don't get nominations,” he said, adding, “Sometimes you don't get nominated.”

He noted that the CMA voting body had voted on what he thought should be included.

“Everyone liked that Beyonce made a country album. Nobody's mad about it,” Luke added. “But that’s where it gets a little tricky. If you want to make country albums, come to our world and be a little country with us.”

The hitmaker said: “Like it Beyonce can do exactly what she wants. She is probably the biggest star in music. But come to an awards ceremony and give us a high-five, have fun and join the family too.”

“And I’m not saying she didn’t do that,” he added, emphasizing that “country music has a lot to do with family.”

Another country music icon weighed in on the issue.
