The Portland Timbers star was named MLS Player of the Month

The Portland Timbers' Evander has been named the MLS Player of the Month for August and September, MLS announced Tuesday morning.

The Brazilian midfielder led the MLS with nine goal contributions (four goals, five assists), while the Timbers lost just one of their six games during that period and posted a record of two wins, three draws and one loss.

Three of his goal involvements in that span changed the outcome of this game. He scored the game-winning goal in a 4-2 win over the Los Angeles Galaxy on September 18th, he contributed the assist that led to the game-winning goal in a 1-0 win against the Seattle Sounders on August 31st, and in the 4th In the :4 draw against St. Louis on August 24, he scored a game-winning goal.

Evander is currently on an 11-game streak in which he contributed at least one goal, the longest current streak in MLS. He scored 33 goals in the 2024 MLS season. He has scored 15 goals and contributed 18 assists this season.
