UNLPD arrested felon in possession of brass knuckles | News

UNLPD arrested a felon for possession of a deadly weapon early this morning after officers found brass knuckles in his possession, according to Sgt. Agustin-Champion.

Police arrested Anthony Burson, 36, of Lincoln, after stopping a vehicle containing the driver, Burson and another passenger for missing license plates at Q Street and North Antelope Valley Parkway around 12:30 Wednesday morning, Champion said .

During a search of the vehicle, officers found marijuana on the other passenger and hidden brass knuckles on Burson, according to Champion.

Officers charged Burson with possession of a deadly weapon and the other passenger with possession of marijuana. The driver of the vehicle was released, Champion said.

Champion said there are no major concerns for the students or the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and that the individuals have no intention of entering campus.

None of the people were students, Champion said.
