Andrew Garfield says he would 100 percent play Spider-Man again

It's entirely within the realm of possibility that we could one day see Andrew Garfield dangling from a skyscraper again as Spider-Man.

This was said by the actor himself, who told Esquire in an interview published Wednesday that he would “100 percent come back” to reprise his role as the beloved web-slinging superhero.

He would come back, he said, “if it was the right thing, if it contributed to the culture, if there was a great concept or something that had never been done before that was unique and strange and exciting and you cut your teeth.” can.” into it.”

Garfield succeeded Tobey Maguire in the role of Peter Parker/Spider-Man, and while his first appearance alongside Emma Stone in The Amazing Spider-Man in 2012 was well received, the sequel took two years later recorded much cooler.

The reception was so cold that Sony, the film's studio, shelved a third installment in the franchise, leaving the then-return of Garfield's Spider-Man in limbo – or, as he described it to Esquire, “left dangling”.

But Garfield found his way back into his Spidey suit when he made a surprise extended cameo in 2021's Spider-Man: No Way Home alongside Maguire and Tom Holland, who succeeded Garfield in the role.

His and Maguire's performances in the film were met with great enthusiasm among the Spider-Man fan base and beyond, making No Way Home the highest-grossing film of the year.

Garfield said that it was really healing for me to be able to embody the character again in the film.

“I love this character and it’s a joy,” he added. “If part of what I bring is joy, then I’m happy about that too.”

It's still too early to say whether The Amazing Spider-Man 3 will finally become a reality, but if it does, it's pretty safe to say that many will be very happy.
