According to police, the driver lit a cigarette when he caused the crash in downtown Lincoln

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A man was ticketed after a crash in downtown Lincoln.

On Tuesday around 3:30 p.m., an SUV was traveling east on O Street near Ninth Street.

According to police, the driver crossed the westbound lane and struck a Honda Fit that was in the turning lane.

According to a police accident report, the impact pushed the Honda Fit into a pickup truck.

The SUV and pickup landed on the sidewalk.

According to police, one person was taken to a hospital with minor injuries.

The driver of the SUV, a man from Lincoln, was lighting a cigarette when the collision occurred.

He was cited and released.
