She's back! Paige VanZant returns to UFC 308 fight week in Abu Dhabi | Power Slap 9

Dana White is making Power Slap 9 a part of the UFC 308 Fight Week celebrations.

Returning to the controversial face-palming league is former UFC strawweight Paige VanZant, who will take on newcomer Chelsea Dodson on Thursday, October 24, 2024, at Space42 Arena in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. If the name sounds familiar, it's because Chelsea is married to former UFC flyweight title challenger John Dodson.

VanZant, 30, was victorious in her Power Slap debut last June, recording a unanimous decision win over Christine Wolmarans (highlights here). The event was part of the UFC 303 fight week extravaganza in Las Vegas. As for their upcoming slugfest, the entire fight card will be streamed live and free on the Rumble app.

It's the digital version of the old Spike TV deal.

“When I first saw Power Slap I was like, holy shit, this is crazy,” VanZant told UFC. “When I see things that are crazy and exciting, I immediately feel the desire to do them. I am definitely an adrenaline junkie and have been since I was a child. I grew up dancing and being a cheerleader, but I like the thrill of life. I would say my biggest award is my toughness. I love competing. I love being violent and that is literally the epitome of being a dog.”
