Finland's DEFILED SERENITY release single/video “Your Worst Enemy”; Debut album will be released in February 2025

Defiled Serenity, the band led by Before The Dawn frontman Paavo Laapotti, has released the first single and music video “Your Worst Enemy” from their upcoming debut album.

The band will release their long-awaited debut album Within The Slumber Of The Mind on February 21, 2025 via Inverse Records. The first single “Your Worst Enemy” is out now. The music video, produced by Tuomas Saukkonen (Before The Dawn, Wolfheart, Dawn Of Solace), can be viewed below.

Singer Paavo Laapotti comments: “We wanted to start with a fiery track with a lot of kick! The song is about a person who was treated like trash his entire life. At some point, enough is enough, his feelings take over and he seeks.” In revenge, he lets his anger out towards his bullies and lets them know their worst enemy. Chaos is what it took, both in the song and in the music video.

Defiled Serenity is a melodic death metal band from Loimaa, Finland. It was founded in 2021 by singer and Before The Dawn frontman Paavo Laapotti. The band's music is aimed at fans of the old In Flames, Amorphis, Amon Amarth, Dark Tranquility, etc. Their sound is based heavily on the 90s melodeath sound, but with modern twists. The songs are full of deep growls, powerful guitars, beautiful melodies and tight rhythm sections.

In 2022, they released their first standalone single, “Voices From The Void,” which reached over 25,000 streams on Spotify alone. Since then the band have written new material and now it's time to release their long-awaited debut album.
