Water leaks will not delay construction progress: Kai Tak

The Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau confirmed three incidents of water leaks at Kai Tak Sports Park during testing in the past two months, leading to a buildup of stagnant water.

The office said the incidents occurred between early August and late September.

Responding to media queries, Kai Tak Sports Park Limited said the contractor has completed its repairs and all plumbing fixtures are now functioning normally.

It also said the leaks had not delayed progress on the park's construction, which is scheduled to open in the first quarter of next year.

“The construction of important facilities at Kai Tak Sports Park has entered its final stages. We have instructed the contractor to ensure the quality of the work and the contractor will continue to carry out tests on various facilities and systems,” said a spokesman for the sports park.
