Nashville man killed in two-vehicle crash on Old Hickory Boulevard.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – One person was killed in a two-vehicle collision Wednesday, according to Metro Nashville Police.

The accident occurred at the intersection of Old Hickory Boulevard and Barnes Road after a Nissan Altima ran a stop sign, MNPD said.

The preliminary investigation revealed the Nissan was traveling at a high rate of speed on Old Hickory Blvd. and ran a stop sign on Barnes Road. While running the stop sign, the Nissan struck the passenger side of a Dodge Dart that was traveling east on Barnes Road, MNPD said.

The collision caused the Nissan to travel into a field, overturn and come to rest on the driver's side.

MNPD said the Dodge stopped for a stop sign before entering the intersection.

The Nissan driver, identified as 47-year-old Timothy Vetitoe of Nashville, died at the scene. He wasn't wearing a seatbelt.

The 26-year-old driver of the Dodge did not suffer any serious injuries in the accident.
