BROOKLYN, N.Y — An off-duty NYPD officer was arrested Wednesday afternoon in Brooklyn on charges of petit larceny and criminal possession of stolen property, according to authorities.

The officer, identified as 22-year-old Obeed Ahmed, was taken into custody in the 63rd Precinct around 2:17 p.m.

Ahmed is charged with petit larceny and criminal possession of stolen property in the fifth degree. Details of the alleged incident that led to the arrest were not released.

The NYPD has not commented on the arrest of the officer, who remains under investigation.

  • Two men were shot during an attempted robbery in the Bronx

    BRONX, NY — Two men were shot during an attempted robbery in the Bronx early Saturday morning, police said. The incident occurred around 4:00 a.m. on September 7th in front of 1880 University Avenue.

    According to authorities, a 25-year-old man and a 30-year-old man were approached by two unknown individuals who attempted to steal their property. When the robbery attempt failed, the suspects displayed a firearm and fired it, hitting both victims in the buttocks. The attackers then fled the scene north on University Avenue on a black moped.

    Emergency medical services responded and transported the victims to Saint Barnabas Hospital, where they were in stable condition.

    The first suspect is described as a slim, medium-skinned man who was last seen wearing all black. The second suspect is described as a male of medium build and medium complexion who was last seen wearing a black hat, black hoodie, black pants and white sneakers.

    The investigation is ongoing and police are asking the public for help in identifying the suspects.

  • FedEx employee was attacked and robbed while delivering packages in the Bronx

    BRONX, NY — A FedEx delivery driver was robbed Monday afternoon while delivering a package in the Bronx, police said. The incident occurred in front of 2395 Palisade Avenue around 5:10 p.m.

    According to authorities, the 54-year-old victim was approached by two unknown men who forcibly took a package from him before fleeing the scene in a vehicle heading north on Palisade Avenue. The worker suffered minor injuries but did not require hospitalization.

    The first suspect is described as a slim, dark-skinned man who was last seen wearing a gray hoodie, blue jeans and white sneakers.

    The second suspect is described as a man of medium build with dark skin who was last seen wearing a gray and black mask, a gray hoodie, gray sweatpants and black and white sneakers.

    The investigation is ongoing and police are asking anyone with information to come forward.
