The BJP claimed that the main accused arrested in the drug racket was the head of the RTI cell of the Delhi Youth Congress and asked the Congress to explain its “links with drug dealers”.

BJP spokesman and MP Sudhanshu Trivedi said the arrest raised questions about whether the drug money was used by the Congress in its election campaigns and whether the party's relationship with alleged leader Tushar Goyal also extended to business purposes.

“Whether the relationship is only political or financial in nature must be clarified,” he said in his address to the media.

Criticizing the Congress leadership, the BJP MP referred to an appointment letter allegedly issued to Goyal by the party high command and said the nation has the right to ask whether there is an agreement between drug dealers and the Congress and whether They had been assured of such an agreement having a free hand in Haryana if the party came to power.

Trivedi claimed that Goyal not only had pictures with senior Congressmen like KC Venugopal and Deepender Singh Hooda but also had their mobile numbers.

“The Congress, the Haryana unit of the Congress party and the Hooda family must make a statement. Why does the accused have photos with Deepender Hooda and why was his number on his phone? Trivedi asked.

Delhi Police on Wednesday seized over 560 kg of cocaine and 40 kg of hydroponic marijuana, estimated to be worth around $100,000 ₹5,620 crore.
