SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH. – The Big-D Group of Companies and the American Heart Association celebrate a successful collaboration with the conclusion of the Week of Giving.

September 14-21 was the Week of Giving, where the company's business units came together to raise awareness and support for heart health.

Big D employees contributed to raising $25,925.79, exceeding the company's original goal of $20,000, a news release said.

“Our 2024 fundraising week built on our annual commitment and was a tremendous success. I couldn't be prouder of everyone's collective efforts. “Raising over $25,000 – and reaching a total of nearly $46,000 through corporate participation – shows how committed we are to making a real impact in the communities where we live and work ” Big-D Companies CIO Shaun Orr said in a statement.

“Our partnership with the American Heart Association reflects the values we hold dear: supporting health, wellness and each other. Together we are not only raising funds, but also raising awareness for a cause that affects so many lives.”

Over 150 employees participated in heart walks and other activities to promote heart health, such as Big-D Signature Park City's partnership with UDOT for a walk and street cleanup, and Big-D Logistics' donation of canned goods to Feeding America.

“The American Heart Association is honored and humbled to be a part of the Week of Giving at Big-D Companies. “It’s inspiring to see employees making progress in adopting healthy habits, getting involved in a good cause and raising important funds to save lives from the number one killer of Americans and Utahns – cardiovascular disease,” said Liv Sasaki, executive director of the AHA Utah Division.
