One person arrested after break-in at Family Dollar in South Haven

One person is in custody in connection with a burglary in South Haven on Wednesday.

In the early morning hours of October 2nd, South Haven police officers responded to a break-in at the Family Dollar store on Phillips Street.

Officers responded to the store after a passerby noticed that the glass door was damaged.

When officers arrived, they found the suspect inside the building. The suspect forced his way in and caused significant damage to the building and interior, including exhibits and shelves, according to officials.

The suspect was arrested without incident and the stolen merchandise from the store was recovered at the scene.

After investigation, it was determined that there are no other suspects involved in this crime, officials said.

The damage caused by the crime is currently being estimated and is believed to be significant.
