A mother, son and his girlfriend are charged in the killing of six dogs at an Eastpointe rental home

A mother, her son and his girlfriend have been accused of killing six dogs at a rental home in Eastpointe.

On Monday (September 30), Corneshia Robinson, 49, her son Kentrell Dorr, 21, and his girlfriend India Jones, 21, were allegedly evicted from their rental home in Eastpointe.

Officials said when the property manager and cleaning crew entered the home, six decomposed dogs were found in the basement.

Under Michigan law, intentionally killing a dog is a four-year felony.

Robinson, Dorr and Jones were all charged with third-degree murder and torture of animals, a four-year felony, and abandonment and cruelty to four to 10 animals, a two-year felony.

Dorr and Jones were arraigned in Eastpointe 38th District Court, where bail was set at $25,000 cash/surety, not 10%. Robinson will be arraigned at a later date.

When released, the defendants are not allowed to consume drugs or alcohol, have any contact with animals and have no contact with witnesses in the case.

A probable cause hearing is scheduled for Wednesday, October 16, 2024 at 1 p.m. and a preliminary examination is scheduled for Wednesday, October 23, 2024 at 1 p.m
