Volunteer and donate

Recovery from a disaster can take many years. There are many ways to help, such as donating money, needed items, or your time. Learn more about how you can help those in need.

Do not carry out your own operations in disaster areas. Trusted organizations in affected areas know where volunteers are needed. Work with an established organization to ensure you have the appropriate security, training and skills necessary to respond.

FEMA Voluntary Agency Liaisons (VALs) build relationships with voluntary, religious and community organizations active during disasters and coordinate their efforts.

Doing business with FEMA

If you are interested in providing paid disaster relief services and goods, visit our Doing Business with FEMA page to get started.

If you own a debris removal business and would like to participate in cleanup efforts in affected areas, please contact the local government in the affected areas to offer your services.
