Video shows stolen vehicle crash near Johns Hopkins

Baltimore police arrested five teenagers Wednesday in connection with a string of robberies, assaults and a carjacking.

Shortly before noon on Wednesday, a call was made for a car theft near Johns Hopkins University.

A short time later, Baltimore police discovered the stolen vehicle and gave chase.

It crashed into another vehicle at the intersection of Erdman Road and Belair Road before the suspects fled the vehicle.

FOX45 News was able to monitor the crash and part of the chase.

The video shows two suspects fleeing from the police and who appear to be very young.

He is seen removing a ski mask, which was described in the carjacking.

According to Baltimore police, the suspects are 12, 13, two 14-year-olds and a 15-year-old.

Baltimore police say each of the suspects has previously been arrested for stolen vehicles.

According to the Baltimore City Attorney's Office, as of September 27, 240 juveniles have been charged with motor vehicle-related crimes, including auto theft or armed auto theft.

According to data released this week by the Baltimore Police Department, car thefts have increased 36% in a 28-day period.
