Two arrested after traffic stop in Sheldon | News

SHELDON – Two Sheldon residents were arrested following a traffic stop in Sheldon on Tuesday, October 1, around 4 p.m.

The arrests of 18-year-old Candice Rose Geiwitz and 23-year-old Mia Faith Janke resulted from a 2007 Ford Fusion being stopped for an equipment violation on Second Avenue near Wyman Street, according to Sheldon police .

The odor of marijuana was detected and Geiwitz, the driver, admitted that there were THC vape pens in the car and that she had recently smoked from a THC vape pen, the incident report states.

Geiwitz had bloodshot/watery eyes, body tremors, balance problems, and distorted time perception and did not pass field sobriety tests.

Janke handed the officer THC vape pens from her bra.

Additional THC vape pens were found in the vehicle.

Geiwitz was charged with first-offense possession of a controlled substance – marijuana – and first-offense possession.

Janke was charged with second-offense possession of a controlled substance – marijuana.
