Students and bus drivers were injured in a crash involving the Columbia-Brazoria ISD school bus on Highway 36, according to the district

BRAZORIA, Texas (KTRK) — Emergency crews respond to an accident involving a Columbia-Brazoria ISD school bus. According to the school district, a student and the bus driver were transported to area hospitals by LifeFlight.

SkyEye flew over the scene on Highway 36 at Country Road 353 Thursday morning.

The video shows the aftermath of an apparent accident between a school bus and a dump truck.

According to CBISD, 21 students and a driver were on the bus at the time of the accident.

“All other students have been evaluated and have been released to their parents or are on their way to school at this time,” CBISD said in a statement.

According to TxDOT, the school bus collided with the truck that was delivering road construction products on Highway 36. The dump truck driver was reportedly not injured.

Further details about what exactly led to the crash were not immediately released.
