A woman has left internet viewers in hysterics after revealing the awkward moment she fell off her chair during a job interview.

Interviews for a new position can be stressful and require a lot of preparation, but for TikTok user Jessenia (@jessenia.tm), all the hard work was over in a single moment. She shared a hilarious clip of the moment she was speaking to the interviewer on a video call before the chair she was sitting on gave way in a flash.

Jessenia tried to make up for the moment as quickly as possible by standing up and apologizing, but it was too late and they were both laughing uncontrollably by now. She even joked that it was like she “fell through a trapdoor or something.”

After the clip was posted on TikTok, it went viral within days, garnering over 1.8 million views and more than 333,000 likes. Luckily, Jessenia, from New York City, recognized the humor in the unfortunate moment when she said she “laughed through the pain.”

It was definitely an unforgettable moment and will undoubtedly make her stand out even more to employers. Maybe people can even use it as a reminder that some things are just out of their control, as Jessenia wrote in the caption alongside the video: “Next time you're nervous about a job interview, just think about it.”

There are also benefits to physically preparing your body, as Indeed also recommends taking a walk, breathing deeply, and keeping yourself healthy before the interview. A final tip that is no less important is to stay positive and smile – even if you fall off your chair.

After posting the video on TikTok, netizens were eager to find out what happened next and whether Jessenia even got the job.

Luckily for her, she posted a follow-up video explaining what happened in that chaotic moment, adding that she hadn't heard from the company at the time.

The unexpected fall caused onlookers to stifle laughter, while some were horrified at the thought it could happen to them. The video has already garnered almost 5,000 comments, with one TikTok user writing: “The way you handled it was perfect.”

Another person wrote: “Girl I hope you got hired.”

“Hired immediately. Stay calm under pressure,” a third TikTok user commented.

One comment said: “I would have said, 'Unlike this chair, I don't fold under pressure'.”
