His vehicle, which contained three other family members, overturned several times.

Jaylene Escamilla, 28, of Addison was ejected from the vehicle and died.

The other two people in the car, a 50-year-old woman, Moxthe's wife, and a 30-year-old man, Escamilla's husband, were treated at the scene by paramedics, police said.

Moxthe, who was seriously injured in the accident, was initially taken to hospital.

Moxthe was allegedly driving with a BAC level of 0.12, which is above the legal limit of 0.08, authorities said.

They had been drinking at a bar in Rosemont to celebrate Escamilla's birthday. Escamilla would have turned 29 the next day, ABC7 Chicago's news partner, the Daily Herald, reported.

Moxthe pleaded guilty to aggravated driving under the influence causing death.

He faces a suspended sentence or a prison sentence of up to 14 years. He remains free on conditional release while awaiting sentencing.

His next court date is November 13th.
