Eastpointe High School student arrested for allegedly bringing a loaded gun to school

No description found

EASTPOINTE, Mich – An Eastpointe High School student was arrested Thursday morning for allegedly bringing a stolen loaded gun to school.

Eastpointe police responded to the school around 8 a.m. Oct. 3 to investigate a weapons complaint.

While students were walking to class, security officers saw a bulge in a 16-year-old's waistband. It is alleged the student refused to cooperate when asked to be checked with a metal detector wand.

When a security guard tried to take the gun from the student, a fight broke out.

After a short lockdown, the school went back to school.

Police are unsure why the student brought the gun to school.

The teen is in custody and booked into the Macomb Juvenile Justice Center.
