Wilkes-Barre assault incident leads to arrest


Wilkes-Barre, PA – A domestic dispute on Darling Street in Wilkes-Barre led to the arrest of a resident. The incident occurred on Wednesday, October 2, at approximately 9:19 a.m.

Officers from the City of Wilkes-Barre Police Department responded to a report of an assault. Upon arrival, they found a 25-year-old female victim with a laceration to her left eyebrow that was bleeding profusely.

According to the victim, she was involved in a verbal altercation with 35-year-old Dennis Rivera. During the altercation, Rivera allegedly hit her in the face with a lighter and then left the scene.

Police located Rivera walking on North Main Street shortly after and detained him without incident. Rivera was then transported to City Headquarters for processing and arraignment. EMS personnel treated the victim at the scene.
