Coos County teen arrested after high-speed pursuit

On Monday, September 30, at approximately 11:40 p.m., a Coos County deputy was searching for 19-year-old Tyson Reiber of Coos County, who was wanted in connection with several crimes reported by the North Bend Police Department.

Reiber was believed to be driving a tan Jeep Cherokee.

Officers spotted the Jeep at a residence on Evans Place and confirmed Reiber was behind the wheel.

When Reiber noticed the officers, he sped out of the driveway at a “dangerous speed,” the sheriff's office said. A deputy turned on emergency lights, but Reiber was unable to stop.

According to CCSO, the pursuit escalated until Reiber lost control of his vehicle, which ended up in a ditch on Cape Arago Highway opposite Travis Lane.

During a brief attempt to escape on foot, Reiber finally surrendered to the officers.

He was arrested for theft and reckless driving in addition to North Bend Police Department charges.

He was taken into custody and subsequently held, processed and lodged at the Coos County Jail.
