OnePlus 13 launches this month: design, battery, display and other leaked changes expected

The OnePlus 13 is coming and we will have a launch date for it soon. The OnePlus 12 is already considered one of the best flagship models of 2024 as the device has managed to impress with its solid specifications without burning a hole in users' pockets. However, the leaks suggest that his successor would be even better in terms of experience and performance. Here you will find everything you need to know.

OnePlus 13 launch date?

We don't have a launch date yet, but OnePlus China President Louis Lee recently confirmed that the OnePlus 13 will launch in October 2024. As we've now reached October, OnePlus is expected to start testing the OnePlus 13 soon and announce the release date. As for the launch in India, the company is unlikely to launch it this year as the OnePlus 12 was launched in India just eight months ago. Additionally, the company has a track record of launching its flagship model first in China and then in global markets such as India. The leaks also suggest that the OnePlus 13 will arrive in India and other regions in early 2025.

OnePlus 13 leaks: List of upgrades, changes, specs, pricing details

The OnePlus 13 is said to have a huge 6,000mAh battery, which would be a big improvement over the previous model's 5,400mAh battery. It will likely support 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. While the OnePlus 13 retains the same vibration motor and main camera as its predecessor, it will reportedly feature a larger 6.8-inch display with the signature punch-hole design. While this screen remains flat, it features curved glass on all four sides, giving it a nearly frameless look. A notable change could also be the introduction of a true ceramic case, a premium design change reported by Weibo tipster Digital Chat Station.

It is also said to come with an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor for biometrics, allowing people to unlock the device even if their fingers are oily or dirty. The OnePlus 13 is said to have a Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 SoC under the hood. This chip is expected to be unveiled at Qualcomm's Snapdragon event on October 23rd. After that, OnePlus is expected to unveil its new flagship phone with the same processor. It is likely to be supported by up to 24GB of RAM.

However, there is also bad news for potential buyers. The top-end variant of the OnePlus 13, which is expected to offer 24GB of RAM and possibly 1TB of storage, could see a price hike compared to the OnePlus 12 with a similar configuration. To recall, the OnePlus 12 was launched in India at Rs 64,999. Therefore, the OnePlus 13 is expected to cost more as the company increases prices with each new release. The reason for the price increase could also be upgrades in the battery, chipset, display, design and other areas.
