Carrollton man arraigned after Lafayette County drug arrest scheduled for Monday | News

LAFAYETTE COUNTY, Mo. – A Carrollton man is scheduled to be arraigned on drug charges in Lafayette County on Monday.

According to a probable cause statement, authorities in Lafayette County stopped 28-year-old Johnnie Wayne Horton on May 30 for a broken brake light. During the stop, Horton stated that he did not have a valid driver's license. The officer noticed Horton was nervous during the stop. They also noticed that he hid the contents of his pockets.

A K9 unit was deployed to search Horton's vehicle. During the search, a plastic bag containing methamphetamine, a bag containing prescription medication, hypodermic needles and two glass pipes were discovered. He was arrested and faces two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia and one count of possession of a controlled substance. Horton's arraignment is scheduled for 9 a.m. Monday morning.
