Aurora officers fire their weapons after responding to the fight west of CU Anschutz

AURORA, Colo. – Aurora Police Department officers fired their weapons after responding to a report of a fight west of Children's Hospital Colorado Thursday afternoon.

Officers responded to a report of a fight in a parking lot near the intersection of E. 16th Ave. and Oswego St. just before 2 p.m. when officers fired their weapons.

No details were immediately available as to why the officers fired their weapons immediately after arriving at the scene.

In a post on X, formerly Twitter, an APD officer said a person was taken to a local hospital but their condition was unknown.

No officers were injured, according to the post.
