Man arrested for attacking stranger at Tigard grocery store

TIGARD Ore. (KPTV) – A man was arrested for assault after randomly attacking a stranger at the grocery store, according to Tigard police.

Around 11:30 a.m. on Sept. 19, a man attacked a 61-year-old woman he did not know at the Fred Meyer at Southwest 72nd Avenue and Pacific Highway.

The victim said she did not know the man who hit her twice in the head as she left the store. She went to the hospital for a check-up and was discharged.

A man shot by two officers during a traffic stop in Milwaukie early Monday morning was not armed, according to the Clackamas County district attorney.

The suspect walked away from the scene and was not immediately found.

During the investigation, the suspect was identified as 25-year-old Isaiah Marquis of Tigard.

Marquis turned himself in to Tigard police on Thursday and was arrested for fourth-degree assault.

The motive for the attack is unknown.
